dc.description.abstractThe doctoral work involved the review of contributions by researchers and practitioners on Total Quality Management (TQM). On realising the need for refining TQM principles, a model named as "Strategic Quality Management" (SQM) was developed. SQM model was formulated by integrating Strategic Management concepts with TQM principles. Eight quality strategies were identified which were subjected to investigations. Based on the investigation results, a focused SQM system model was evolved. Sixteen papers were brought out of the doctoral work. Among these, three were published in peer reviewed international journals.en_US
