dc.description.abstractNetworkofworkstations(NOW)havebecomeimportantandcost-effective parallelplatformforscientificcomputationsandgainedtremendous popularityandattentionfromtheresearchcommunityinrecentyears.Manysystemsprovidethisenvironmentandprogrammingmodeltoachieveparallelism inNOW.However,stillitisfacedwithmanypracticaldifficulties.Oneofthemajorproblemsislackofhighlevelprogrammingmodelfortheparallel programminginNOW.Manyprogramminglanguagesprovideanefficientsystem,butemployarelativelylowlevelprogrammingmodelwhichistoocomplextobeusedinnetworkenvironment.Thisdissertationdealsandaddressestheabovesaidproblemby amalgamatingtheobjectorientationparadigmandparallelismtoprovideaneffectiveobjectorientedparallelprogrammingmodel.Theobjectorientationisapowerfulparadigminsoftwareengineeringwithwideacceptance.Itprovides supportfortheconstructionofmodularandreusableprogramcomponentsanditisattractiveforthedesignoflargecomplexserialprograms.Apartfromthemeritoftheobjectorientedprogrammingconcepts,theapproachoftheobjectorientationisinherentlyparallelbymeansofmodules.Thatisthestepsofdesigningthemodulesinobjectorientationisbefittedtothestepsofdecompositionofaproblemintheparallelprogrammingbasedonmessage passingtechnique.Basedonthisapproach,anewobjectorientedparallelprogrammingmodelcalledOP++hasbeenpresented.Inaddition,anewparallel algorithmhasbeendevelopedforTravelingsalesmanproblemwithdifferentmodesoftransportanditsimplementationinOP++hasbeendescribed.Moreover,theexperimentalresultsanditsobservationarepresented.en_US
